Huge Swathes of Old Messages Not Showing in AquaMail

When I view the Inbox for each of my email accounts in AquaMail, it only seems to be showing me emails from the past 30 days or so [This seems to be coincidental with the setting for Smart Folder > Smart Folder Time Period] followed by a massive chronological gap until email from years ago.

See screengrab below.  There are emails for Oct [current month] and some of Sept and then a huge gap til way back in late 2007



For comparison, here is the same account inbox over the same date period, in MailMate on OSX. The dates are in Irish*, but you can see the continuity is there:

Needless to say, none of the missing messages have been moved to any odd sub-folders on the server, or anything like that and, as you can see, they all show up fine on my desktop email app. So why is strange behaviour happening in AquaMail?

Thanks. That seems to fix it.

Setting the Messages to sync to the maximum of 120 days now gives me four months of previous messages with an option to load 120 days more when I scroll down.  And the really old messages from 2007 and beyond are no longer shown.

BTW.  The workaround linked to by Nadejda refers to Hotmail / Outlook accounts, but worked for me on a Gapps hosted email account.

The workaround is not Hotmail specific - the issue can happen with any "migrated" account, and the fix has to do with how IMAP works (and most mail services is IMAP).

It just that at the time (when I made the post), Hotmail was migrating accounts internally to "new servers" causing this issue en-masse.
