"Please wait for the message to load..."

I open an email and can see the message, but when I want to reply to that email it sometimes takes forever for the reply window to show up.

I get a pop-up saying "Please wait for the message to load...". There's nothing special about the message in terms of the amount of content or images. Just an "average" email.

My connection appears to be fine (I was on mobile data at the time most recently). I'm not forwarding an attachment, just replying to it, in case that makes a difference.

I have "no limit" in the preferences when viewing a message. Is there a solution to this?

Also, "forever" is not a very useful word -- when discussing technical things -- one man's "forever" is 5 seconds, another's is 10 minutes.

A fast network does not necessarily mean a fast mail server. Just to pick an example, sometimes Gmail takes 5-10 seconds to "select" a folder, when the app is checking mail or needs to go back to a message. This is with a 100Mbit home connection, and a 802.11AC WiFi router.

This situation is completely different from the other thread in that I can view the message, but when I try to reply to the email, the aforementioned pop-up message shows, which prevents me from completing the reply (and I agree with you, "forever's" not useful here    ).

Consequently, I either back out of the message or the app all together and return later to reply.

Well, I assume this happens with certain messages? Debug log please?

I haven't been able to discern a pattern or certain type of message when this occurs.

I just now turned on debugging. I presume that sending it to you now won't have the information you're looking for since it wasn't on when the issue occurred. If I'm mistaken, please let me know and I'll send it to you. Otherwise, I'll wait for it to happen again and send it.

Right, there is no general issue in the app that would affect all messages, or everyone would be seeing it all the time.

Therefore, I need to see the issue actually happen. Could be related to a specific sending app, or the server's IMAP implementation.
