Spammers
« on: February 19, 2013, 05:57:59 pm »
Hi

How about having a central topic for reporting spammers? I'm sure Kostya has got better things to do than go through checking for spam so perhaps the users could help by notifying him of it. For example, on this category, I can see the following spam senders:

fluersGetle
powersuper
Gabekneeste
minorret
SarahSmith
geletina
rolaagreent
hoSealpSoma
Andesamudrie
Termessarl
ArturTitovMSK
clutlelty

and loads of others.

Or perhaps just using the "Report to moderator" link might help?

Thanks
John

I use the "Report to moderator" link but lately they are too many.

Yes, it's a bit bizarre how much spam there is. There's a useful guide at:

I believe Kostya might have no time to dedicate to forum administration, and less to do the modifications recommended there.
I wouldn't like him to take time from development to do that either.

In principle I agree. Further development is more important than forum housekeeping. Perhaps someone else could do the housekeeping instead? I'd be happy to volunteer for the moment, but will probably move on to other things at some point.

Thank you all.

I've got "Bad Behavior" installed already. Will try to add one more plugin.

Just did some cleanup in this section.

The best thing to do, if I miss something, is to use the "Report" link -- this sends me an email instantly.

Just installed Stop Forum Spam, with IP and email checks activated. Let's see if this helps.

Looks like the new plugin is helping a little, but not bulletproof...
