Kostya leaves Aqua Mail

Two and a half years ago Aqua Mail became a member of the MobiSystems family of apps. With it the company gained not only the best Android mail client, but also an invaluable team member in the face of Kostya. Through the combined efforts of him and the company, Aqua Mail grew in popularity and feature set.

Unfortunately, we have to announce that Kostya will be leaving Aqua Mail due to personal reasons. Everyone at MobiSystems is thankful for his many contributions and wishes him the best of luck in future endeavors.

Aqua Mail will stay in the MobiSystems family and we will continue to develop it as one of our flagship products.

Hello everyone. Just want to add a few words.

The reasons for my leaving are purely personal, and my departure was entirely and mutually amicable.

I know we (MobiSystems people + myself) did good work together over these 2 1/2 years.

At the same time, I'm absolutely sure that the app will continue to improve.

Nadia, Slavi and others at MobiSystems did quite well on the most recent release (1.19), it was made without my participation at all. I'm sure they'll do even better and better as time goes on.

Last but not least - thank you all dear users (forum users, but not only) for your continued interest in the app over these years.

Fun history bit:

The project started when Email app on my Galaxy I9100 uploaded a few hundred copies of a single sent message into the mail server's Sent folder... I just wanted to see if I'd be able to do better than that

While coming somewhat late to the Aqua Mail fan club, I do truly appreciate the work that Kostya has done with this project. And he's been very helpful to me when I was just trying to figure out all the things that could be configured. He will certainly be missed.

I don't think we are going to see any significant  feature developments in Aquamail. Kostya was the man in charge. I don't believe Mobisystems have the technical wherewithal  to take this app forward. At best we can hope they maintain it. I see a drop on number of users as other apps move ahead and Aquamail stagnated. So sad!

Yes, that's true. The ransparency and openness unfortunately suffered a lot. Also, there is virtually no interaction with the community anymore.
It's a pity, but it was to be expected.

Our both participation (and some others here in forum) was based on a great and respectful relationship.

I think we benefited from each other: Kostya has received some feedback from the user's side and we have been able to share our own ideas in developing a fantastic app.

On the other hand, we have tried to support Kostya in the time-consuming user support and therefore relieve him (a bit) for the actual development work.

We will all miss him very much. Kostya, thanks for an outstanding great job you did. My friend, I wish you the very very best, good luck and above all, health for the future.

Well, this was expected, such diplomatic answer is a typical political (pointless) announcement and I am also very sad that this community's spirit is gone & over.

However as I have seen Kostya -s activity in one other, kind of related group, so I hope that we will soon see some new stuff coming.
