Problem playing soundfiles as notifications same time if two mails are received

Hello friends,

have a problem. As I told in an other topic, I have for each of my 18 different mail-accounts a other soundfile in "special Notifications", what says the name of the mail-account.

But how to setup the sync frequencys in AquaMail playing soundfiles doessn't come in conflict with playing soundfiles from other accounts same time.
Hard to explain...
I need a function like
1. Account Syncstart: 00:00 sync all 20mins
2. Account Syncstart: 00:01 sync all 20mins
3. Account Syncstart: 00:02 sync all 20mins
4. Account Syncstart: 00:03 sync all 20mins
...
18. Account Syncstart: 00:17 sync all 20mins

So it never could possible, two or more notification sounds are played same time and disturbing each other.
Unfortunately setting the Syncstart is not availiable in "special Sync settings" for each account seperately.

I tried to set the different sync frequencys in primary numbers:
1. Account sync all 2mins
2. Account sync all 3mins
3. Account sync all 5mins
4. Account sync all 7mins
...
18. Account sync all 61mins

This works better, but not really good. For example, in min 35 it could become a conflict anyhow with playing two sounds same time.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

There isn't a function like this and I doubt there will be - we don't want to wake up the phone at irregular times.

For example with your 18 accounts and sync every 20 minutes - you'd be keeping the phone awake 18 minutes out of each 20 minutes.

Ops, you're right. This I has not on my radar.
Thats a impossible thing to the battery to have no sleep-mode anymore.
But is there a other way perhaps, to get my speaking soundfiles playing relevated to the mail receiving account?

If there are two (or more) notifications, with sound, posted at more or less the same time - then those sounds will be played at more or less the same time and so you'll hear them at more or less the same time.

I'd say what you can *try* is reduce how often sounds are played --

-- say, Aqua Mail Settings -> Message Notifications -> enable "only when new messages" and "only when there are changes" (both are enabled by default)

And maybe also enable "play sound only once" (in "special settings" where you use them - or in app settings).

I'm afraid, you missunderstood my problem.

In AquaMail general App-Settings, I have  deactivated notifications completely. ("AquaMail Settings" - "Mail Notifications" - first option "Mail Notification" deactivated).
All following options on this page are greyed out then.

In all accounts, I have activated each the Special Notification Settings

"Manage Accounts" - account#1 - "Special Account Settings" - "Mail Notification" - "Sound": "a.wav" , "Sound just once" activated
"Manage Accounts" - account#2 - "Special Account Settings" - "Mail Notification" - "Sound": "b.wav" , "Sound just once" activated
"Manage Accounts" - account#3 - "Special Account Settings" - "Mail Notification" - "Sound": "c.wav" , "Sound just once" activated

Example:
If I receive two new mails, one for account#1 and one mail for account#2, AquaMail plays sound "c.wav" from account#3, although account#3 didn't receive a mail at this time.

Thats, what I wonder how.
I can understand, AquaMail plays "a.wav" and "b.wav" simultaneously in this example.
But not, why sound "c.wav" is played then, if no incoming mail for this account is received.

"account#3 didn't receive a mail at this time" - OK but does it have (older) unread messages?

Can you please go into Aqua Mail Settings -> Notification

- Enable the overall "Enable notifications" switch

- Enable "Only when new messages" and "Only when there are changes"

- Turn the overall "Enable Notifications" switch back OFF if you wish (although if you have Special notification settings for each of your 18 accounts - turn off the overall settings isn't really necessary).

Hi Kostya,

I have no other received mails in any account. All inboxes are empty. (have "hide if deleted, hold on server")
The settings, you have suggested, I have checked once again. Exactly this are my settings.
The sounds that are played are from different mail accounts doessn't received a mail.
But unfortunately not the sound will be played from the account that really has received a mail.
Only sure, if any sound is played, a mail has received in some account.
Have no ideal, whats wrong.

P.S. Maybe I should mention, all the "Account" - "Special Mail Notifications"-settings, I remote with Tasker by choosing different mail-profiles for selecting what mail-accounts should play it's sounds or be quiet if a mail comes in.

For example, with my Tasker Mail-Profile:
"Meeting" is just playing the sound of mail-account#1 if a mail is received, all others mail-accounts are set to "No Notification"
"Break" just plays the sound from mail-account#1 and mail-account#2, if a mail is received, all other mail-accounts are set to "No Notification"
"All" plays the sounds of all mail-accounts, if a mail is received there.

If I check the settings in Aqua-Mail with choosing the different Mail-Profiles in Tasker, everything is correct displayed in the AM account-settings and the matching soundfiles are associated with the corresponding mail-account there.
So, a problem with Tasker-Scripts is almost impossible.

OK this is going to be difficult to troubleshoot because even if you make debug log - I won't be able to tell which sound is which.

Let's try something.

- Please enable the app's "overall" notification setting and choose a sound for it

- Also turn ON "while app is active" (Wenn die App aktiv ist) and turn OFF "only when new messages" and "only when there are changes" (those two are near the top)

- With the changes above you'll be able to "refresh" an account while the app is on the screen (active) and still get notifications, with sounds. Useful for troubleshooting. You can revert these changes later.

- Mark a message as unread in account A - refresh (check mail in) account A - check what sound you get (account A's or some other account or the sound from app settings)?

- Mark a message as unread in account B - refresh (check mail in) account B - check what sound you get (account B's or some other account  or the sound from app settings)?

With this settings, the correct sound what belongs to the mail-account is played, if I set the received mail to unread.
It seems to work well with all existing mail-accounts if just one mail is in the smartbox.
Unfortunately it works only, if only one new or one unreaded mail is in the smartbox.
If I get more mails new into the smartbox (received accounts #1, #2, #3), the sound of account #5 will be played instead the sound from one of the three accounts.
Account #5 didn't receive a mail in this time.


Btw, I couldn't find a user guide or manual for Aqua Mail in the web anywhere.

Is there a manual availiable for Aqua Mail somewhere?
Could be very helpful for special problems like this.

So are you using "smart folder notifications"?

Believe I've asked before but not sure if you ever gave definite answer.

sorry, my english isn't as good, as it should be.
And thanks for your patience.

I did the settings exactly as you suggested in AquaMail - Settings - Notification settings ("smart folder notifications").

If I receive just one message everything is fine with this settings, the correct sound from the one account that has received the mail is played.
But if I get more mails same time, the sound of an account is played that has neither received a mail nor has mails from earlier receivings (no read and no unread mails) in its inbox.

Before testing, I allways click "Mark All" and then the dustbin-symbol in the smartfolder to hide every existing mails.
I have "hide in AquaMail, leave on server" in the account-Settings of each account. So the mails are just hidden, not deleted.
If I check in the account-page then, no account has a content in its inbox.

P.S. Yes, smart folder notifications are enabled meanwhile.
What you call "Smartbox Notifications", I have named "AquaMail - Settings - Notification settings"
Did all settings as you told to do there.
My written list from  May 14, 2018, 04:32:46 pm is containing the actual smart folder settings.

And the account #5 didn't has unreaded mails in its inbox.

"Zeige die SmartBox" -> enabled

"Für Benachrichtigungen benutzen" / "Benutze die SmartBox für Benachrichtigungen" also enabled?

Yes, in "Settings" - "Smartbox", I have activated
1. Row "Zeige die Smartbox" activated.
2. Row "Timeperiod", I have "Show all actual",
5. Row, "Use for Notifications" activated,
6. Row. "Account- and Foldernames" activated,
6. Row. "Sent from myself" activated.
All other points are deactivated.
