Text only email not displaying line breaks

I have a Linux cron job that sends me a daily status report. The output is a simple sequence of lines. The line breaks are being ignored when viewed in Aquamail.  If I add two line breaks to every line, then I see the two line breaks. If I make the line length longer (around 70 characters), the line break displays. I've attached a very simple example of the email. When displayed in Aquamail, the lines that being with "date/time" appear as a single line.

Trailing spaces. So called "flowed text" decoding.

You can turn it off in Aqua Mail settings -> mail, other.
