Sync deleted contacts
« on: August 08, 2017, 09:52:11 pm »
Nexus 6P running Android version 7.1.2
AquaMail Android version 1.10.0-403
Outlook 2016
Remove some contacts from Outlook 2016. Sync account with Aquamail.  Accounts removed from Outlook 2016 still remain in contacts on Android phone.  I can't seem to find an option in settings or a post anywhere that addresses this.  How can I get Outlook removed contacts to be automatically removed from my phone's contact by AquaMail.

Please check your mail provider's web mail / contacts to see that they're really removed.

Outlook (the Windows app) may put them into the Trash folder meaning they're still "visible" to Aqua's sync code.

Thanks Kostya, but I went a different route.  I found another post on the forum that sparked an idea.  I went into the Options and Folders for the exchange account. Clicked on Exchange Options and unchecked Sync Contacts.  I synced the account with the server.  Then I went back into those same settings and checked Sync Contacts.  That worked.  BTW, I did go through OWA for Office365 and confirmed the contacts were removed before my original posting.

Right, that removed all synced contacts from the device and re-synced again (just the ones that were still there).

But the usual incremental sync should have worked too.

For the record, I just tried it -- deleted a contact in Office 365, waited for Aqua to sync the change, and it did delete the contacts from the device's Contacts... There may still be an issue somewhere, but I'm unable to reproduce...
