Hiding bcc
« on: February 23, 2017, 08:10:14 pm »
I have my accounts set to send me a BCC when I send an email and it works fine.

Sometimes, on some emails I don't need the bcc. So I just delete it. But in ver 1.8.2-203 that is less convenient to do. It takes pressing on the keyboard's delete key until the email is all deleted. I think in prior versions there was an X at the end of the field which would delete the bcc with a simple click.

Is it possible to restore that X ?

(And the reverse: how to restore the bcc field if deleted by accident)

Thanks.

In my opinion, the best way to avoid deleting by error this field is to prevent this X to be implemented. Besides, restoring a deleted field is something very hard to get in Android apps. And the X takes place and is not very anesthetic.
The previous version 1.7 already had a simple solution to bring up the fields "CC/BCC":
-> as a menu item called "Show/Add CC/BCC"
     [which is now the small arrow at the end of the "To" field]

The OP was asking for an option to delete only one (or two) of the fields (CC/BCC/Reply-to) - including all their entries - with just a simple click. Simular to the previous version 1.7. which had an "X" at the end of each field.

After deleting the field (and it's entries) the user could bring back the field with the menu item "Show/Add CC/BCC"... which is now the small arrow at the end of the "To" field.

That is correct. Clicking on the arrow at the right of the To field just "hides" the filled up bcc entry. It does not delete its entry.

On most emails I do want an automatic copy sent to me. But on some I want a simple way to remove the bcc entry. The X allowed me to do that quickly and simply. I miss it.

"Show/Add CC/BCC"... then allowed me to restore the field if I changed my mind and I could re-enter what I wanted.

It would be great to have these two restored.
