It's a standard "1dp", one logical pixel (possibly more than one physical pixel, depending on screen res). Not sure that making it thinner than that would look good...

Do you have the "floating action button" enabled?

Do you have the app set to two panel mode (perhaps only two panel in landscape, and one panel in portrait, this was added recently)?

Mobile bar is selected, in vertical one screen only, in portrait accounts and messages list, no floating button present in both.

Disabled divided screen, the floating button appears and lateral menu. But if I set divided but not in vertical mode, the button and lateral menu must not disappear, correct?

In widget could be nice to add the option to visualize unread messages only.

This was added recently, and still considered "two panel mode", therefore, no "floating action button" or "floating action bar" even in portrait.

This can be done by using a widget set to the smart folder, and setting the smart folder to "unread only". Sorry no separate "unread only" setting for the widget only.
