Kudos for handling duplicated "Subject:" line properly
« on: February 18, 2016, 02:00:00 am »

It looks like one of the recent (or not so recent?) tricks that spammers use is to have two (empty) "Subject:" lines in the headers. SpamAssassin (if configured so) adds a "[SPAM]" prefix to the subject. It looks like it does that to the first instance of that line.
I don't know what RFC says about the case of a duplicated "Subject:" line (if anything), but I am glad to see that Aquamail reads that version and not the other one.

Um, if I'm reading your message correctly -- must be something that "just happened by accident" (almost).

Headers are supposed to only be set once (IIRC), except sometimes there are duplicates "in the wild", so the code merges the ones which seem important (To, CC, BCC) but not all of them.

On a sideline,  this topic made me port this.
I just purchased LG G4,  recently.  While playing around its mail avocation.,  I came accross a feature "out of office response",  put of curiosity when I selected it,  I got the message,  "checking server setting"  and then presented with me the menu to set the message   dates etc.  I was just wondering,  does it sync this like the folder?  And fetch the setting locally on the phone?

Gmail? Exchange?

Exchange / EWS has protocol commands to retrieve and set these, so the server knows what to do, independently of any mail apps at that point.

Nope,  I tried with my office imap account,  which I have configured with aquamail.

IMAP doesn't provide a way to access "out of the office" even if it's an Exchange hosted account.

Yes, I made a mistake,  I chose outlook account erroneously to check,  in imap,  in setting,  the option to configure out of office messages disappears.  Thanks
