Email contents not showing

I do not use Lastpass or other password managers and nothing in Accessibility is enabled- I have done some Googling... getting more blank email contents over time- Amazon.com order confirmations, UPS tracking info are the latest and they do appear normally on PC and Mac's. The headers etc are there, just blank contents... Nexus 6, Marshmallow, latest AquaMail... other settings to check, uninstall/reinstall AquaMail, or will an OS clean flash resolve the issue?

Umm, tough one.

Can you check the phone's system settings -> accessibility -> services, to see if any listed there (and if so, please try disabling and rebooting the phone).

I'd also try uninstalling updates to "Android System WebView" via Play app and rebooting the phone.

Oh, and let's see if it's only a display problem, or if the app is somehow missing message text altogether.

You can check by hitting Reply or Forward (and maybe also the pencil icon "edit together" on the compose screen) -- will you get the content of your message then?

Nothing listed under Accessibility.
When I forwarded one of the emails in question to myself the contents of the original email do not show when composing the forwarded email in AquaMail(box is checked to do so), or in AqualMail when I receive the email back,  but do show on my Mac...

Wow, bizzarre. So the app isn't getting the text content of those messages.

Where is the mail account (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc) and how it is set up in AquaMail (IMAP vs. POP3)?

Are you able to reproduce the issue at will (perhaps by re-forwarding the messages through Outlook or web mail, or moving them to another folder through Outlook or web mail, refreshing in AquaMail to make them disappear then putting them back)?

The email in question is via my own domain hosted by 1and1, IMAP. I have two other emails operating on AquaMail- gmail, and Apple me.com
I will try testing some more between these accounts and report back later...

If you can find a way to reproduce it at will --

-- it would be great to get a debug log (with "log raw data" and "log database data" both ON), showing AquaMail receiving one of those "bad" messages and then your opening it.

It would help if app settings -> swiping between messages could be turned off while creating the log.

Just in case, - let me verify that last statement:
What "do show on [your] Mac"?  Do you mean that you can read there the message that you forwarded to yourself from within Aquamail, which Aquamail did not display? I.e., you could see on your Mac the forwarded message (when it comes back) that you still do not see in Aquamail.
... or you meant that on your Mac you can see the original message as it arrived originally (and not in the forwarded message)?

I am asking this, because I might be understanding that statement differently from Kostya, as he made this conclusion:

Um, a very good point. I missed the subtlety here.

Yes, this is very important -- will tell us if

1) AquaMail is not seeing the content (text) of those messages vs. 2) WebView does not want to display this content.

Big, big difference.

I will try again-
I received an email from UPS Tracking. I see the email contents normally on my Mac. I do not see the contents on AquaMail. When I forward the email from AquaMail to myself, the original contents are not displayed as I compose the email to be forwarded and after I receive the forwarded email back in AquaMail. This same forwarded email, when viewed on my Mac DOES show the contents.
Now not all emails are doing this. Is there a setting which would block the contents from being displayed from specific email addresses? Have I toggled a setting?
'auto-confirm@amazon.com' does not display contents but 'ship-confirm@amazon.com' does display contents.

No there is no such setting. And I receive order confirmation / shipment messages from Amazon too, no issues whatsoever.

Have you tried uninstalling WebView updates? Rebooting the phone?

So, it looks like it is (2).

Don't you see the option Uninstall, in Google Play?

Maybe he doesn't have any updates installed?

Then there should be an Update button to *install* the updates. The idea is to try to move things.

Oh and can you also check system settings -> accessibility -> services, anything listed there (maybe not password apps, but something else? there have been cases before).

What's the phone's Android version, too? WebView only gets updates via Play from 5.0 and up.

OK, did some experimenting... bottom line all is well again.
I tried three other email apps including Gmail and had the same issue, so not an AquaMail problem. So I wiped and reinstalled the ROM and set up AquaMail fresh without using backed up settings. Ran all the Play Store updates. I received some new emails from the same sources and the contents showed normally. I will leave as is for a few days but I think its fixed.
