The Smart Folder item is not there on the app's main screen? There is checkbox for that in app settings -> smart folder.

Exactly, the smart folder had been ticked and now isn't so is no longer appearing on the main screen. That's the only difference between the settings I was using earlier and the restored settings. Very strange.

Yes, very strange indeed -- you're saying that this setting was changed to "off" by the restore, assuming it was "on" at the time you made the backup?

I am unable to reproduce this. And someone just mentioned over email that one of his account options reverted to default on two phones. Can't explain that either.

It almost seems like the process of installing this latest Play version (1.6.0.7) somehow corrupts some of the app's data files.

No, I'd changed it to on after the backup was made. So the only change made by the restore was to restore the original smart folder setting to off.

Tried this Version,  no changes regarding the missing notification topic.. 

Also tried if turning off smart inbox had any effect,  but didn't make any difference too...  will try full Uninstall and reinstall the app

i agreed 100 percent thank you for the fast fixed note 4 -  4.4.4

It had to my trying to support Android 5+ "priority" notification mode, where a notification only gets through if sent by a "starred" contact.

And it had an unfortunate side effect, a crash if there was a bunch of old unread messages (beyond what's visible in the app) or if the user enabled "privacy" in AquaMail notification settings.

My code was suppressing the crash, but the code which to actually post the notification was getting skipped.

Ironic: I can't get this "priority" notification mode to work for me, even in Gmail

About to post the fix to Play as 1.6.0.8, many thanks to all for the reports and the testing.
