Aquamail showing old messages and not recent ones

Hi, I'm having a really frustrating problem with aqua mail. I've got 2 accounts setup and in one of them aquamail isn't showing some of the recent messages. There seems to be a 3 month gap in my emails , so I've got all emails  from today, yesterday (8 th sept)  and then my next emails are from 7th June. This updates  so tomorrow i'll have emails from 8th June, but not 8th September...
Can't see anything in the settings which seems relevant. Its set up as imap to Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync server.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I wouldn't recommend jumping to 120 days like that

Something like 10 or 14 to start with -- the more messages, the more work for the app (affecting battery use, network traffic, time).
