Getting "Invalid Server Response" from Exchange Server
« on: September 07, 2016, 06:50:45 pm »
Hi,

This used to work well on my Cynogenmod phone. However, I recently moved to One Plus 3 and AquaMail won't simple work (AquaMail & AquaMail Pro both are installed). I am trying to add an Office 365 mail account. For that I chose Exchange Server option and provided the following details:-

Server name: outlookDOT--office365DOT--comSlashEWSSlashExchange.asmx
Security type: SSL (strict)
Server port: 443
Login: my_email_idATcompany.com
Password: take a guess

On pressing Next I just get  - Invalid server response. Please make sure the data is correct.

I got the server port and Server name from my Mac Outlook, which is working. There Server is set to: httpsColonSlashSlashoutlookDOT--office365DOT--comSlashEWSSlashExchangeDOT--asmx & Use SSL to connect is checked on.

Please help.

PS: Replace DOT-- by ., Slash by /, Colon by : and AT by @. Stupid forum rules.  >:(

Sorry for your inconvenience with posting URLs. I am myself frustrated with not being able to post links while you are a new user on a forum. It is a necessary protection from spammers who make just 1-2 spam posts and run.

In the information you provided, I see a potential source of the problem in the server name.
I'd suggest trying entering just "outlook.office365.com" there and let Aquamail do its magic.

Yes, the app will add the path -- "/EWS/Exchange.asmx" -- automatically if not present.

Please try changing the server to just outlook.office365.com as suggested by StR. Security should be "SSL" and port number should be 443.

If the issue persists, please capture it in the app's debug log (please see the link in my signature, below).

Thanks a lot. That worked.

Regarding the links. You can pre generate a code when someone buys the Pro version and mail them. Then they can use that to get better privileges on this forum. Whoever is paying money, chances of them spamming the forum is lower.
