I *think* that was sarcasm on @mikeone's part :)

Kostya, if you are not going back to include nested folders (Which I still argue you to still reconsider)
could you at least do me a favor and include a function in the search pane to do the following:

Example:
1. I search for folder "Ongoing" and receive the following tree:
Inbox
   aBRF
       Styrelse
           Ongoing

2. If I then long-click on the "Ongoing" I get a menu item called "Show folders below".

3. You could then use the search function (in the background) to search for all next level items below "Ongoing" and show them in the list.

4. I could then, in the next list repeat from 2-3 again to get folders below. And so on.

This could emulate the nested structure but instead using the search function to populate the list of items.

This would not break the new existing hierarchical view design as it is using the same search engine,
somewhat modified to do more.  Is this something you think could be feasible ?

Sounds like we're discussing account options and folders -> folders screen now?

Since the whole folder list is there -- same as before -- any reason to not just scroll to the right place?

Which is how it worked before?

I have 2500 folders/subfolders and it takes forever.  Just isn't practical.

And what I propose was an extension to the search function to somewhat emulate the old nested structure
but by using the search engine instead as you have decided not to go back. Then use the functions already
working by adding more functionality to it to emulate earlier behavior.  See above how I envision it.

What I've done is made search show one level of children below any folder matched by search.

Should be able to post a new build tonight (gonna be 1.5.7.28+).

I also have thousands of folders and would appreciate it very much if only one level is shown whenever I touch "other folders".

You should try the recent version 1.5.7.37:
