I sync mails only once every hour, that's enough for me, so the 1000 mails shouldn't be much of a problem.
Well, maybe I'll reduce it to a few hundred again, that should suffice to keep all my important starred mails in AquaMail...

But I'm not sure if I understood all that correctly... How does the "messages to sync" setting work together with the "display per page" setting, which also defaults to 25?
I mean, if I set the sync limit to 1000, AquaMail doesn't actually download all those mails instantly, or does it?
As far as I can tell, the messages are only downloaded (and only show in the Smart Folder) if I actually entered that inbox folder in AquaMail, scroll down, and hit "load 25 more mails" a couple of times...
