IMAP: Unable to see or move the message to the user subfolder
« on: September 25, 2014, 08:19:02 am »
I have an IMAP account which in some cases has user folders with sub folders. The first level folders are visible, the ones with sub folders are marked with small triangle in the bottom right. But an attempt to expand the sub folder list or moving the selected message to the sub folder does not work.
Screenshots attached.

- AquaMail view of the folder; Screenshot_2014-09-25-13-57-52.png
Thanks and regards.

Well, it is tricky, I did not notice 'open' I hoped pressing on the triangle would open subfolders list, thanks for the hint.
It works accessing Clissold from 'Other folders..' it does not in Move, at least this time. Screenshots attached:

- Screenshot_2014-09-25-14-52-11.png; from 'other folders..'
Interesting enough, the triangle disappeared, so there is something fishy.

It worked. I moved the message to DigiTV, but, using AquaMail, I am unable to verify the move as 'Open' within Clissold is greyed out.
Using Webmail I see that the message was moved.
Screenshot attached.
Thanks and regards.

Well no, I do not want to synchronise them, I simply want to be able to:
- move messages to them when necessary
- look at the contents from time to time
Thanks and regards,

I am aiming for the tablet to be able to perform as many functions as the Webmail, namely access folders/subfolders contents, as I'd like to concentrate all my e-mail functions using either AquaMail on the tablet/smartphone or Webmail on the PC, whichever I have handy.

I was hoping to be able to see them just tapping on selected ones instead of keeping them synched all the time.

In the folder chooser, "Open" opens a sub-folder, and "OK" selects the currently selected folder -- as the target for moving a message (if this is what you were doing), or for actually opening its message list.

If someone thinks that the wording is confusing, please suggest better ones (e.g. "A cat" for "view sub-folders" and "A dog" for "confirm choosing the selected folder"... :) )

Thank you for all your suggestions. I also sent myself the posting of Paris Geek with his setup and will start experimenting with my folders.

Thanks, I am able to both move and see the contents of folders and sub-folders. I still need a bit of run-in time in this department, as I intensively use user folders and sub-folders in my IMAP account for maintaining messages categorized and archived.
