No onscreen notification

Using Aqumail on my 7900 Google TV I always received on-screen visual message notification + sound. My TV updated to Android 4.2 jellybean now I receive sound notification only. The on-screen visual notification was great and I miss it. Any ideas?
In settings:
Enable notification is checked
LED notifications is checked
Turn screen ON when notifying is checked
Vibration is unchecked

Since posting this LG have advised that Google/LG are looking into providing a separate volume control in their Jellybean 4.2 software to address the issue of faint notification sound. However they did not suggest how to resolve the NO on-screen visual banner notification. Jellybean does not support Adobe Flash - could this be the reason I get no longer get on-screen notification of new emails?

AquaMail has nothing to do with Adobe Flash.

For notifications, the app uses standard Android functions.

Since LG broke this in their firmware "update", it would be up to them to fix it.
