Half horizontal blue tint at the selection status

Hi,
I've been using Pro version for a while and recently upgraded my device to Galaxy S4. Since then I have noticed the selection status bar at the top will have half horizontal blue tint. I have updated to the latest version of Aqua mail but it is still the same. I remembered it didn't happen before with my previous galaxy S3.
Please see attached screen shots for the details. Anyone else having similar issue?

Actually, I don't specify the background here in the light theme, relying on the system background, which is guaranteed by Google (haha!) to be consistent and predictable from Android 4.0 on.

Can you check if any other app exhibits this?

No. It does not happen with other app that I have.
Why yours is OK? Is your OS Jelly bean 4.2.2?

It seems similar to a GPU rendering bug that 1) was admitted by a Google developer 2) supposedly fixed in 4.2

Can you check a couple of things:

1 - System settings, "{} Developer options" --> turn off "Force GPU rendering" if it's enabled. Reboot the device, check AquaMail.

If issue still there:

2 - AquaMail settings, "Debug" --> turn on "Disable GPU". Reboot the device, check AquaMail.

If issue still there:

Can you try the good old "magic reinstall" trick?

Force GPU didn't do anything different. I didn't do reinstall because I have to set up lots of email settings for work. But I know my friend S4 also got the same issue so I think this is an issue with S4?

Did you try "Disable GPU" in AquaMail?

I believe this issue is one I ran into before, it's a GPU rendering bug in Android system code... If it's the same one, it's a random (unpredictable) corruption of bitmap data, and it just happened to corrupt this particular image.

Or could be an issue with the S4's built-in theme, the background is part of it.

I'll try to include a copy of those backgrounds in the app, to see if it helps. Will try to get this done for the next development build.

Oh, incidentally... Could you try the dark theme (in my app's settings, under Look and Feel), to see if it has a similar issue?

Yes. It is the same when using dark theme.

Why oh why this doesn't happen on my Galaxy Note 2 or Galaxy Nexus?

Think it's an anti-aliasing issue, just posted a new build with a few pixels tweaked, hopefully it helps:

Think I know why...

The S4 is Full HD, and those images (I took them from Android source code and tweaked the colors a little) are for 720p.

Must be filtering then, keeping my fingers crossed it's fixed in just posted build.
