It's already shorter (smaller height) if you use "slim padding" for the message list, compared to when "slim padding" is not enabled -- and I can see that you're using slim padding.

Maybe I should make a larger adjustment, for smaller height.

Maybe I used a bad definition, for me separator bar is the colored separator containing the date... To big also in compact layout.

No lambrusco today, Lemonsoda, but the temperature is low, so, "Tortellini in brodo" instead of summer food

I just made a change to make a larger adjustment to the separator's bar padding when using "slim padding". In the beta version.
