Error Retrieving Mail
« on: February 16, 2018, 01:34:24 am »
I'm on the latest official release of AM and have been using it for quite some time.  I've had the same several accounts configured and working from day one.  The accounts are a mix of POP3 and GMAIL accounts.

All of a sudden today, one of the POP3 accounts stopped retrieving email and produced the error shown in this picture.  When I go to the web interface or another email client, it retrieves mail just fine.

Absolutely nothing has changed with my AM setup or configuration.  What does this mean?

Anyone please?  I tried adding a duplicate account, with the same credentials and a different name, but still have the same issue.

It's working with other email apps.

Thanks.

Must be part of the Yahoo / Verizon / AOL transition.

pop.verizon.net is now an alias for pop.aol.com but the SSL cert there doesn't include the verizon server name.

Please change the server from pop.verizon.net to pop.aol.com (using the Manual button on the account setup screen).

I don't understand why it would be an issue now.  That conversation has been done for months now.  Everything was working fine, until 11am or so yesterday.

I'll try it anyway and see what happens.

Thanks.

Because anything mail server related can change any time.

The certificate at pop.verizon.net (which is now same as pop.aol.com) does not include pop.verizon.net server name.

Correction: it "did not".

Right now pop.verizon.net does *not* point to pop.aol.com anymore, which it did when I wrote my first reply above.

And the certificate is good again.

I can't know if it'll last.

Thanks.  I've tried it again and it's still not working, but produces a different error.  I have to do more research.

Thanks for your time and responses.
