Most recent message dropped on refresh from SPECIFIC IMAP server

This is a very odd bug, which you may not be able to reproduce. I've got a bunch of accounts - two on my own IMAP server (atmail.ims.net), one on one university server (mail.physics.wisc.edu) and one on another university server (hokin.pobox.stanford.edu). All load messages fine but the last, which always drops the most recent message after it has been loaded the first time following a refresh. That is, I see it at the top, try to open it, and the message view closes out and the message is gone. After I refresh again, I can usually read it, although occasionally it happens once again and I have to refresh a third time.

I'm guessing this is a server-side bug, but I thought I'd report it. The IMAP settings are:

server: hokin.pobox.stanford.edu (custom host for every user)
port: 993
security type: SSL (strict check)
authentication: choose automatically

Not a massively horrible bug, but its been present since I got this Stanford account over a year ago.

Do you use push mail?

Can you try turning it off and check if the issue persists?

I recall a bug just like that in one well known commercial mail server product.

In any case, please capture this issue in a debug log (with "raw session data").

I do not use push mail. And it's not a day to day thing, Paris, it simply drops the most recent unread message, even when you're about to open it. I'll get a debug log to you, Kostya.

Here's a log for you to ponder.

1. I refreshed my hokin@stanford.edu IMAP account, saw a new message on the top of the stack (a JIRA ticket from webmaster@biostat.wisc.edu);

2. I clicked on that message, the message loaded and then vanished and I was viewing the next, older message in the stack.

3. I refreshed from the IMAP server again, and the new message appeared again, marked as already read.

4. I clicked on the new message and I could read it.

That should pretty much cover the entire log that I'm sending, there may be a little activity after that. Again this is ONLY with this one IMAP server at Stanford. It is 100% reproducible - the newest unread message is always dropped when I open it.
