ErrorSendAsDenied
« on: August 29, 2014, 06:18:07 am »
Probably not really an app error but I just started getting ErrorSendAsDenied. The verbose message from the log is "The user account which was used to submit this request does not have the right to send mail on behalf of the specified sending account".
It appears that my exchange admin may have changed a setting on the exchange server. I tested in another EWS mail app (MD) and I get the same results.
I am able to send mail from the OWA web app fine.
It is possible that some Linux apps are able to work around this by altering the email header details.
Is that possible in this app?
thank you

How about fixing this where it's broken -- i.e. the mail server?

Maybe you could buy the admin a beer :)

wow... did not expect that response...
As for changing policies and procedures for large corporate exchange servers... not likely to happen with a beer...

Well, I'm sorry, but what kind of response were you expecting?

The server administrator disabled your account's sending function, intentionally or not, but it's blocked at the server (at least via EWS).

You've already confirmed this with another mail app, which is completely unrelated to Aqua.

Were you expecting me to make my app somehow go around this server side policy? A hack of some sort? A security vulnerability exploit?

Would your IT department be happy if they found out? Getting you fired and getting me sued or my app removed from Google Play?

Or were you expecting some kind of magic? Unicorns with roses sticking out of their asses?

I mean, seriously?

I was hoping that since Thunderbird appears to have solved this issue by modifying the header that you might be able to do something similar.
Your app is the better one compared to the others that I have tried. It appears particularly good on battery usage.
I will be continuing to use it but there isn't really much point for me to go pro since I am not able to send mail (not the apps fault)
I'm sorry to have bothered you..

I have been using the free version of this app for over a year with no issues; 2 accounts linked.  I just purchased the unlocking key to add a third account for school and figured out how to configure it to receive emails, but I cannot configure it to send emails.  I have successfully sent emails with the other 2 accounts I have linked since purchasing the unlock key.  I'm receiving the "ErrorSendAsDenied" message delivery failure.  Any ideas why this is happening?  Thanks.

Same thing. Error coming from the server, meaning it (the server) thinks that the app is trying to send mail from "alice@foo" using "bob@foo" as its login.

I suppose it's completely out of the question to ask your school's IT people about whether this Exchange server allows sending via EWS at all, and what might be wrong?

It's set up through the state of CT, but I can give them a call and see if anyone there knows what EWS is....it is a state-sponsored program, after all.......

I think that's the best course of action -- can't really do much from my side of things.
