Android P DP2 - keyboard not displaying automatically when composing new email

When composing a new email in Android P DP2 the keyboard doesn't display immediately like it did on Android Oreo. I tested with SwiftKey and Gboard. Please pop it open by default.

I am only able to run Android P in emulator - not real phone - but it seems you're right.

Wonder what happened :)

Can you please check how it is in other apps - preferably Gmail for Android?

The keyboard opens up by default with Gmail for Android spp.
