Chromebook
« on: June 27, 2016, 07:35:52 pm »
I just purchased a chromebook and downloaded Aqua Mail. I've been using Aqua Mail on my Samsung tablet and I can adjust the font size with the volume keys. Not possible on the chromebook. How can I increase the font size? It's very small.Thanks.

Tried that. Clicked on "larger" and it increases somewhat but still very small.

Is there possibly a zoom feature?

Is the Chrome books one of the high-res (screen) models?

There seems to be an issue (I don't personally have one) where Android apps aren't properly scaled, to account for the high screen density.

In terms of the app itself -- it fully supports Android's varying screen resolutions, the UI and font sizes are visually the same between a 5" 480*800 screen and a 5" 1080*1920 screen.

Chromebook is similar to a laptop. Mine has a 14"screen. Not particularly high res. Has no hard volume keys to adjust font size like my tablet. I use Aquamail on my Samsung tablet but without a way to increase font size on the chromebook I'll have to change to Gmail. Aquamail works fine but nearly unreadable.

Re: Mine has a 14"screen. Not particularly high res

I meant the number of pixels, not physical screen size. I guess it must be.

Well, sorry, I don't have a solution.

AquaMail runs on Chrome OS as an Android app, using Google's "magic", and this is another area where this "magic" falls short.

On Android, font (and general UI) scaling is handled by the system. On Chrome OS, I expect it should be too, but sounds like it's not.

Another "Android on Chrome OS" app is Evernote:

This would be a great app on the chromebook, IF YOU COULD adjust font size. On the Toshiba Chromebook 2 (2015 edition), the text is so small you can't even read it, even when the resolution of the chromebook is dropped.

This is unusable on a chromebook because across most chromebooks, the font size is too small

There is no way that I can find to make the display type big enough to be easy on the eyes -- short of decreasing the resolution of my HD Chromebook 2. This alone makes the app virtually useless.
