Tasker Actions: Check Mail - Update Feb-25

I have created a task with the AquaMail plugin and selected Actions: Check mail: All. When this task is trigger either maually for testing or by a tasker event, AquaMail does nothing. I have messages waiting but they are not sync'd. I'veenabled syncing for AquaMail on a schedule for every hour and it works fine but I want to trigger a mail check before the hour interval.

This is for an Exchange account and I'm trying to limit the bandwidth and battery consumption.

Update - Feb-25:
Tested alternate versions of Tasker from backups, ver 4.5 works as expected. Now I do NOT need Exchange Push!!! I can trigger a Check Mail action for my Exchange account in AquaMail, using Takser and a different email client that does support Exchange Push. This allows me to continue using the much superior AquaMail unified client, a 3rd party for new mail notify only and I've reduced my battery drain and bandwith consumption be as much as 350Mb daily. "Exchnage push > Tasker trigger > AquaMail sync... perfect!"

Your mention of trigger not working with Tasker 4.6 had me worried enough to check.

I also have 4.6u3.

After creating an "AquaMail plugin" action in Tasker, and setting it to "check mail in All accounts", I'm able to trigger it "by hand" using the "Play" button, lower left, in Tasker's "Task Edit" window -- and it makes Aqua check mail in all accounts.

So maybe the problem with 4.6 is with this Tasker task not getting triggered, on that end, and not with Aqua?

I'm certain the problem is with tasker 4.6 on my device and NOT with Aqua. After more testing I found other plugins that did not respond in 4.6 but did in 4.5. So my issue is most like between Tasker 4.6 and my OS.

My config with Tasker and Aqua sync is now working perfectly, no need for Exchange Push. I get my email from exchange in 30 seconds or less and no polling or battery drain.
