Widget size?

Is the default mail widget 3x2?  I cant for the life of me resize this to full screen.  Using the trial version on my Sammy Note.

The widget gets added i think as a 3x2, but i have no problems on APEX launcher to re size it to a full screen widget.

Actually, the default is 4*2, but no matter what it is... you can resize it by long pressing (to bring up resize handles).

Works on Android 3.0+, except some Samsung models restrict this standard Android functionality to their own widget (built into the firmware).

Played with a Sammy S4 and I could change the widget size without any problems.  Wonder why it doesn't work with the Note running stock 4.0.4???  Can't utilize this widget to full screen

I don't have the original Note, only a Note 2 where the resizing works fine, but...

... vaguely recall a popular Samsung device where resizing was turned off in the stock (TouchWiz) launcher for third part widgets. Only widgets built into the firmware could be resized. Might have been the original Note, or the S3 (maybe with early firmware), not sure.
