Getting rid of autocomplete!

Woud have posted this under "feature requests", if not for that forum being "read only".
I absolutely ***HATE*** any auto-complete "features" that can not be turned off, because I am not Joe Schmo. Which means 98% of times they guess it wrong and I end up having to type the whole crap all over again.
Same goes for access to my address book - not even Google gets that (sync turned off and using non-Google app for it), so I most certainly won't grant it to my puny mail program.
Yet aquamail keeps peskering me with an ugly popup box to grant it access to my address book, so it can auto-complete the recipient e-mail address field for me.
Does this mail app seriously think it knows better than I do whom to send my mail to???
I want this pesky request popup gone or I'm switching mail apps here!!

This mail app is just trying to be helpful to 99.99% of users - the other users, who perhaps need a bit of assistance with auto-complete. And they (those other users) can easily forget that they need to grant the contact permission for this to work. Unlike you, obviously.

The green bar on the compose screen is easy to turn off - just tap it, and then deny the request, making sure to enable "do not ask again". You may need to do this twice before the "do not ask again" becomes visible.
