There is another issue with Hotmail going on right now:

The apps in those links are Thunderbird, MacMail, ... Not Aqua Mail

It is a server issue on Microsoft' side.

It *may* help to change the password in Hotmail web mail - and then long press the account in Aqua -> account setup -> next -> complete -> save.

Same here (Germany). Since this morning, Aqua doesn't connect to my Outlook account any longer. have tried the workaround with ...office365.... but it doesn't help. Have removed the account completely and tried to re-install, but failed (Timeout, can't connect). Other helpful ideas?

Ask your Internet Provider to check connectivity to imap-mail.outlook.com port 993.

And/or contact Microsoft support I suppose.

We can't do anything if Microsoft screws up their server's networking / connectivity (and why is it mostly Germany, anyway? just curious).

There is a bunch of complains here right now, even access with a web browser is broken for some people:
