Slow Sending

Not sure if it's a bug or if it's just how things work, but it seems as if sending out email is very slow.

I can be on a fast connection and downloading mail is very quick, but then if I send out an email, it could take 15-30 or more seconds before it sends.  For example, I just sent an email from my aquamail exchange account to my gmail account, I was watching where it says "sending 1kb" in smart folders view and it took about 15 seconds before it was done.

Why does it take so long to send?  Is there a configuration tweak that can be made somewhere?

This looks not abnormal since usually the bandwidth for uploading (sending messages) is much less than for the download (receiving messages).  Furthermore time depends also on the size of your attachments.

AquaMail does not have any artificial dealys when sending mail. Everything works at full speed, but I'm sure you understand that a lot depends on 1) your mail server and 2) your phone's connectivity.

For me, sending an "almost blank" message through Office 365 takes about 3-4 seconds.

For me, sending an almost blank message takes 15 seconds at least.  Phone connectivity isn't the issue since that can occur on WiFi and when downloading mail is fast. I do suspect that it could be the mail server, but how to confirm? Any logs that might help?  Are there any sending options at all that might be worth tweaking?

If your corporate mail server is slow (for these specific operations), I'm not sure how anything on the app's side would help.
