Notification problem

I was a happy Aqua Mail user with unlocked version of the app, but since yesterday I am experiencing some weird issues.
My notifications don't work. They used to work, but right now they don't. I can't associate it with any system change, other apps, Aqua Mail settings change.
I checked:
-notifications setting in Aqua Mail (all is on)
-night mode and weekend notification-off times - I have them switched off
-notifications volume in the system (android 4.3.2) - loudest possible (I have together the ringer and notification volume in one)
-notifications for every account
Even when I switch on the vibration notification it doesn't vibrate and it doesn't notify me no matter which of my 5 accounts receives e-mail.
Any ideas what might have gone wrong?

No notifications show at all, or no sound?

If the former, please try the device's system settings -> apps -> find and open AquaMail -> enable the system level "notifications" setting.

I'm attaching a screenshot from my Galaxy Nexus (4.3), a Nexus 4 should be identical.
