Push email on POP? Sync interval?
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:47:25 pm »
Very similar to an earlier thread, I have just moved over to a Note 3 from Blackberry and miss their email client.....  I am wondering if it is possible to have my emails "pushed" to me rather than have to "sync" every x minutes.

On the Note, the shortest sync interval is 5 minutes.  While a manual sync is possible, it is annoying to have to keep pressing buttons when waiting for an email coming in - especially as I have some 5 email accounts for different aspects of life.....

I do not use gmail or yahoo and will not be doing so!!!

Does AquaMail allow "pushing" if technically possible?  If not, what is the shortest "sync time interval"?

Thanks for any help.
Dave

Have partly answered my own question by downloading the free version and finding that I can set a synch for one minute intervals. Not quite push but probably near enough!

POP3 does not have push capability, period. The spec is from 1996, no really.

Many thanks for prompt confirmation of what I suspected!  Now if only it was possible to delete IMAP from the server while leaving the PC inbox intact!

Thanks

"delete IMAP from the server while leaving the PC inbox intact"

That would be handled by your PC mail app.

AquaMail has a setting (under each account's Options and Folders -> Account options) whether to remove from its local storage those messages that are discovered to have gone missing from the server.

I believe desktop (PC) mails apps have settings for this too.
