I started releasing 1.5.5 about a month ago. This is a very time consuming and stressful process (lots of emails, bugs in new code, old bugs that people finally decided to write about).... Hard to work on something really big and new.

And so I've been working on some smaller but also much needed changes - to release another update before diving deep into message threading / conversation view.

+ Improved recipient entry on the compose screen ("chips"), can be turned off in app settings -> contacts.

Tap on a recipient to show "alternates" or delete, long press to drag and drop.

+ Auto-complete for Exchange contacts right at entry, no need to open the contact picker window.

+ Hierarchical folder list, with search, in account options and folders -> folders.

Planning to also implement this in "move message" / "show other folders" dialogs.

+ Create server folder, same screen (account options -> folders).

+ Menu -> "Purge Deleted folders" in account list now applies to server folders too.

+ Rich text editor: assign a link to any piece of text ("link" icon).

+ Assign Exchange calendar colors in options and folders -> Exchange options.

+ New settings for message list widget: larger font, number of lines of content preview.

Я начал выпускать версию 1.5.5 примерно месяц назад. Процесс выпуска отнимает много времени и нервов (много писем, ошибки в новом коде, кто-то решил написать о чем-то старом)... В это время трудно заниматься чем-то сложным и новым.

Поэтому я занимался меньшими, но тоже важными доработками - чтобы выпустить ещё одно обновление перед тем, как зарываться с головой в пресловутые "цепочки сообщений".

+ Улучшенный ввод адресатов при написании ("плашки"), можно отключить, настройки -> работа с контактами.

Короткое нажатие на введенном адресате показывает "альтернативные адреса", длинное начинает перетаскивание.

+ Контакты Exchange авто-завершаются прямо при вводе, не нужно вызывать отдельное окно.

+ Иерархический список папок, с поиском (уч. запись -> доп. настройки -> папки).

Планирую сделать так же в окне выбора папки при перемещении писем и выборе "других папок".

+ Создание серверых папок, на том же экране (доп. настройки -> папки).

+ Меню -> "Очистить Удаленные папки" в списке сообщений теперь работает и с серверными папками.

+ Возможность присвоить ссылку любому кусочку текста в редакторе сообщений (иконка "звено цепочки").

+ Присвоение цветов календарям Exchange (доп. настройки -> настройки Exchange).

+ Настройки "увеличенный шрифт" и "кол-во строк сообщения" для виджетов - списков сообщений.

Correct, groups are only available in the contact picker window, just like in 1.5.1 and all previous versions.

At 50 recipients, chips are turned off (too much work to query and show all that stuff).

Same as in Gmail and built-in Email, BTW (and for a reason)

The point here is something else:

Let's say you get a message from "Raymond McFlurry III, Esq. <foo@bar.com>" and have an entry in your Contacts for him, labeled "Arrogant Jerk".

When you reply, in Gmail / Email, your reply will be sent to "Arrogant Jerk <foo@bar.com>" and it'll be visible on the receiving side.

Now in Aqua, with the setting off (default), the app will carry over the name from the original message, so Mr. Raymond won't get to find out what you think about his personality.

New folders are always created at top level, siblings of Inbox. This lets me avoid a separate step (pick parent folder)... In addition, some IMAP servers allow folders below Inbox, some don't...

Should be good enough for most users, and it's still possible to create folders in web mail, just like before.

What if you accidentally delete a folder with thousands of IMPORTANT BUSINESS MESSAGES WORTH BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!!!

Just think about it, could happen very easily, right?

So please do that in web mail, and then I won't have to tell you how to get those messages back -- it'll be the responsibility of that mail service's support
