Alerts - Mail check - and Time reference
« on: March 31, 2014, 09:30:58 pm »
Hi,
I have some problems to configure this APP alerts.

I have the Pro version and I did't receive never alerts... I try to change config but I don't know where is the problem.
I have and IMAP config of my company mail server (they use Zymbra server).
I translate myself What I see in Spanish... so may be is not what you have on your phone...

1-Time reference , I read is:
This is the time reference point for scheduled background mail checks.
Every 15 minutes counted from 0:0 would be 0:15, 0:30, 0:45 and so on.
Every 15 minutes counted fromт 0:10 would be 0:10, 0:25, 0:40, and so on.

But I can only put 12:00AM or like a TIME, not 00:00 without put AM or PM.... have any sense? I want to put every hour at 00...

Frequence I put 1 hour.

2- No sound received and no led alert.
Notification Enabled (ON)
Sound (MYSOUND)
Notification LED (ON)
Vibration (ON)
Only Vibration Mode (OFF)
Turn On screen (ON)
Sound ONE TIME(ON)
Only new messages (OFF)
Only when changes (ON)
When APP is open (ON)

3-
Other Settings I have that can explain why didn't check mails and didn't receive alerts:

-Syncronization:
System Options: Check ALL
Message per page : 50
Syncronization (ON)
Use only WIFI (OFF)
Frequence (1 hour)
Frequence personal (OFF)
Time Reference : 01:00AM
Slow check (OFF)
When APP IS OPEN (ON)
ONLY WHEN SCREEN IS ON (OFF)
WIFI mode saver (OFF)
ENABLE IMAP PUSH (ON)
Use only WIFI (OFF)
Events (NONE-OFF)

-NIGHT AND WEEKEDS:
Enable Mode night (ON)
From - HOURS: 06:00PM
TO - HOURS : 08:28AM
##### ===>>>I HOPE THIS SETTINGS COVER FROM 6PM TO NEXT DAY 8AM..... CORRECT????
#############################################################
NO CHECK MAIL AT THIS TIME (ON)
-MODE NIGHT-
WEEKEND DAYS: SATURDAY and Sunday
CHANGE TO MODE NIGHT IN THIS DAYS (OFF)
MODE SILENT (ON)
DISABLE MAIL CHECKS (ON)

4- And this is not really important but I can share it.
My phone is configured on Spanish, and this is OK, but why I can't change language on the APP Aquamail Pro? the spanish used on the APP is litle confusing... so some times is better have the English version

Hi,

Your settings appear correct.

Does the app receive any new messages at all?

Are they all already marked as read?

Does the app check mail during day time? You can tell in the account list -- there is time under each account.

On the am/pm thing, I guess midnight is 00:00am.

On the translations - Android has only one device-global language, unless I can hack something special on my side... which I haven't sorry. There are people helping improve translations here on the forum, so I hope it gets better.

Hi,

Your settings appear correct.

Does the app receive any new messages at all? ===>>> When I open the mail app, I see mails are sync, but don't care if are new or read mails... never give any alert.

Are they all already marked as read? ===>> No, I checked some times there are reads and unread. BUt never receive alerts.

Does the app check mail during day time? You can tell in the account list -- there is time under each account. ===>>> I have only one account configured on IMAP. May be bug on IMAP??? (I can't configure on POP3 is office mail).

On the am/pm thing, I guess midnight is 00:00am. ===>> OK I hope it check every 00:00 (I think It check correctly, I see phone if screen is off I see it turned ON every "00" hours.)

On the translations - Android has only one device-global language, unless I can hack something special on my side... which I haven't sorry. There are people helping improve translations here on the forum, so I hope it gets better. =========>>> OK no worry.

Something that I can try to uncheck or turn off to test?
I don't have any idea what I can change, from the first time I set it with basic alert never receive it, so I think may be is something diferent, may be Phone config? other app conflict alerts??? I have installed ALERT.ME .

Ok, some more things to check:

--- Per-account "special settings" for notifications: long press the account -> special settings -> check if you have an override for notifications for this account, and maybe it's "off".

-- The device's system settings -> apps management -> find AquaMail -> open its details screen -> make sure "Show notificaitons" is checked.

This is a system-level "kill switch" for notifications.

One more thing in case the app is not checking mail in the background:

-- System settings -> Data (or Data usage) -> Menu -> make sure that "auto-sync data" is enabled (checked)

Hi Again.
Now it give me the alert blinking led (not the color I was choose).

When I see again:
--- Per-account "special settings" for notifications: long press the account -> special settings -> check if you have an override for notifications for this account, and maybe it's "off".

I see the sound was "NO SOUND".
Color was GREEN, and I choose coloUR "BLUE".
Then other checks was enabled and I have other in the account.....
So was all not changed until I changed it in this "special settings".

Thanks for help.

Yes, "special settings" are "special" because they're per-account overrides of app global settings.

Maybe there is a better way to word it -- ideas?
