How do I come back to the hierarchical view?

Hi
I'm a pro user of Aquamail. Really the best android mail app. Great job.
With the last version we now have to look for folders (as in the web version of gmail). Super.
But I lost the hierarchical view I'm used to use.  Can't find any option to re activate it as described in the 'recent changes'. I use AM in French. What did I miss?

Hi Paris Geek,
I never noticed that before. The sn9002 I use is the dual sim Chinese version of the Samsung GN3. It comes with English and Chinese only. I have installed the wonderful SVA Rom and turned it to French. So, my system setting is French. May be the ROM missed some lines such as those related to SPen.

The change affects "options and folders -> folders" screen, "move to folder" dialog and "other folders" dialog.

All folders are shown all at once in a hierarchy.

Previously, the "move to folder" and "other folders" dialogs forced you to click through the hierarchy, from parent to child to child to child.

Now they're showing all at once, so you can just scroll to the right folder (or search by name).

This is a permanent change, there is no setting to go back to the old way.

NO NO NO!!!  This is NOT good.

You have, in one stroke, permanently destroyed what was good with this mail client
compared to others in the market and the main reason to why I selected Aquamail
in the first place.  I am getting so angry and frustrated. This REALLY sucks...

It would have been one thing if I had used the adware version, but I have (gladly)
paid money for this mail client but now it will render it useless for me.

I know that there are a lot of other good things about the client but this is a deal breaker
for me if you insists in only keeping the hierarchical.

Why do you remove such an important feature without asking your paying customers first

I have almost 2500 folders/subfolders and it gets really difficult to scroll through all these just
to find the correct folder.  Also I sometimes do not know what the name is so I need to browse
myself to the correct location.  This renders the Search function also not usable for me in
all situations.

Please reconsider to restore the parent/child version (expand/collapse) again (possible as user configurable)
as request from a longtime paying and loyal customer.

If not, I may need to request a refund as one of the primary and critical features I bought
the software for has been removed rendering it useless for me.  Then I will be very sad. :-(

When I first found your mail client it really struck me as the best client except missing
the parent/child feature which you later included on request.  Since then I have never
ever looked back and has been the yardstick I compared all other clients against.
I have numerous times recommended this software to others but the decision to go on
this route could end this. Sorry to say... :-/

Did you really tried out the implemented option "search by name"? It's a very powerful feature to find a specific folder even if you don't know the exactly name....and it's worth to try it

It's much easier and faster to navigate a deep folder hierarchy.

As I already mentioned, sometimes I don't know exactly what the name of the folder is but I know where it is located if I could drill down through through the structure.
I have many similar things/folders/foldernames but for different customers and need to be sure I am looking in the correct folder and easiest is to go from top-down.
In some cases the Search could work but in other cases it can't.

I don't understand why he couldn't kept the old way and just added the new view as an additional one. 
Then the user could decide which he prefer.

Yes, the new way to access folders and subfolders is great. Thanks Kostya

I am not saying that the new way is bad, but rather that it it completely replaced the old
instead of just adding one more "view".

Sometimes - from the technical point of view - you have to decide between two alternatives... and the decision was made by Kostya for the new way....

Glad to have started this thread.. As Dan I have a huge tree with hundreds of folders and because I have a structure by country/vendors/customers,  a lot of subfolders have the same name.
The search is fine and the offers of Kostya (refund and old versions)  are really fair.  But hierarchical still best..  Isn't it any way to add it as a choice into the settings for the next release?

In what way is it much easier to navigate with a flat 2500 folder structure that you have to scroll
forever to get down to the correct folder and a search function that works well when you have
unique folder names everywhere and a way to see where in the folder structure you are BUT when
you have a structure with same folder-names but with different parent folder-names it is much
more difficult to use the search function and it does not get faster, but rather the opposite.

I will try the search function once more but on a separate phone as I had to revert the software to a
previous version as I use aquamail on a daily basis and need the nested function to work efficiently.

The statement from you about that it gets faster to navigate, is from your perspective but feels like
you haven't anchored this with enough end users, especially your paying customers.

All end-users have different folder layout and for some it could work excellent but for others with
different setup than you it could be the opposite. This is my concern. Especially as you are
removing the old way and completely replacing it with a new.

Regarding the refund, it's not so much the actual amount but rather a moral principle.

I really got sad when I realized what you have done as I thought I had found the perfect
email client that I could replace the internal with permanently.  And now I may be forced
to search for a new one if I want to stay current with latest corrections and bugfixes and
not be forced to stay on one version due to removal of a (for me) critical feature.

I hope I could convince you to re-add the old nested way (but not replace the new) again as it is really needed.

I will give the search function a new try but I am doubtful it will working good for me.

Problem when you have so many folders, it is sometimes difficult to remember what the name
was and it is easier just to browse down to the section you are after and then get a list
of folders that belongs to that subject and you could then find the correct one.

Well, that sounds reasonable for me...

However:
