[Solved] Icon error on Samsung S5
« on: April 25, 2015, 07:49:38 pm »
Since a few days the Aquamail icon constantly shows "5" messages, and it does not change any more. How can I get rid of this error?

Using Pro.

Another try, maybe at first:

* Remove and reinstall AquaMail icon from Application manager (App drawer)

Uninstall and reinstall AquaMail icon from Application manager (App drawer)

How can I uninstall an icon?

On your homescreen:
Long press the icon and drag them to the trash can on the screen. Depending on what device you have and what version of Andriod the trash can appears on different places on the screen.

I already did this:

1. Removed the Aquamail icon from the home screen and re-added it again – no help.
2. Uninstalled Aquamail completely and re-installed – no help.

The re-installed icon still constantly shows "5" messages ( big red round "5").

Maybe you really have 5 unread messages in your account.
I have much more than 5 unread messages in my account. But shouldn't the icon show the number of new unread messages?

increase the number of synchronized messages in AquaMail (long press account name -> Options and folders -> number of synchronized messages. Or FAQ)
I'm sorry, I don't find that option under "long press account name -> Options and folders". There's only "Kontoeinstellungen (account setings)", "Verfassen und Senden (Compose and Send)", "Vorab laden (load in advance)", "IMAP options" and "Folders". Where should I search for "number of synchronized messages"?

Thank you. But unfortunately it didn't solve the issue.

Maybe I should add a note: This issue with the icon happened at the same time after I got this error message: "NO Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceeded (mail_max_userip_connections=10)".

I solved the above error by setting "mail_max_userip_connections=20" on my email server. But the icon issue didn't disappear.

Please check if the option "Launcher icon counter"  is enabled:

(Global)  App settings  > Message notifications > scroll down to the very last one and enable this option

Yes, it is. It was enabled, I disabled it for testing, but now it's enabled again.

Another try:

The developer of AquaMail wrote a small app that tries to reset any "stuck" badges in Samsung's TouchWiz.

You can download it right here (it's not in Google Play yet):
http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=217

> if you scroll down on that page you will find the download link for this small tool: "TouchWizBadgeReset"

Some users reported that it fixed the stuck badge on their Samsung phones.
