finding the servers
« on: December 20, 2024, 07:16:55 pm »
I'm a little perplexed -- I'm trying to configure AquaMail on a new tablet and of the choices I select "other mail" [I'm using dreamhost].   It asks me for my user/password  and when I hit "next" I get an instant "error connecting" for both IMAP and SM TP.   Where/how does it get the host to use?  How can I set it [e.g. imap.dreamhost.com]

I've kinda figured out what's happening -- I've temporarily [I hope  :)] configued a different email client and it did what aquamail seems not to be able to:  As with aquamail, it asked for my email address and my password, and then did what I thought aquamail would do:  it used the domain of my email address to find the mail servers for it and connected to them and logged in with no trouble.  It appears that aquamail leaves out the "look up the servers' part and just bombs out
