If you use dark mode and copy text from another email and then paste it into a new email, in which the compose box has a white background the copied text pastes as white text on black background. Of course if you "paste as plain text" the dark background does not come with the text and the text pastes normally in black.
I've often wondered why this is. I can see that copying something that has been highlighted or is in a colored text box would include all that stuff when the item is pasted. It is part of the formatting.
But I look at dark mode as simply a viewing convenience not as something attached to the text as formatting, as permanent baggage that travels along when text is copied. It's very frustrating if I don't remember to "paste as plain text". A simple "paste" creates a mess in the new message.
