Hello,

Aqua Mail already supports Modern Authentication (OAuth2), and it's verified by Microsoft.
To continue using Aqua Mail with your account(s), you need to upgrade your account(s) to Modern Authentication (OAuth2).
Follow the steps below to upgrade.

For Outlook/Hotmail Accounts

1. Access your account settings:
Open your Outlook or Hotmail account in a web browser.
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.
Select "My Account" or "Account Settings."

2. Navigate to Security settings:
Look for "Security" or "Security Info" in the account settings menu.
Click on it to access security settings.

3. Enable two-step verification:
Find the option for "Two-step verification" and turn it on if it’s not already enabled.
Follow the prompts to complete the setup, which typically involves linking your phone number or an authentication app.

4. Generate app passwords (if necessary):
In some cases, you may need to generate app passwords for applications that do not support modern authentication.
Under the "Security" settings, find "App passwords" and generate one if needed.

By following these steps, you should be able to upgrade your Outlook/Hotmail account to use modern authentication, ensuring enhanced security and continued compatibility with Aqua Mail.

P.S. You will need to remove/add the account from/to Aqua Mail after that.

I've had 2 step verification enabled on Outlook for some time. The problem that I'm seeing with Aquamail at the moment is that the outgoing server won't authenticate when I'm using data (5G) but it authenticates fine when using wifi.

I installed Samsung Mail and it doesn't have the same problem i.e. outgoing mail sends fine on both wifi and data. Nine email also works fine. It's an Aquamail problem.

Is there anything else that I can try to get Aquamail working correctly?

Martin, do you mean we need use App Password to keep connecting AM to Outlook.com, after Sep 16th?

Because you told AM supports Oath2 only to Outlook365, not for Outlook.com.

Hello Ricardo, no need for a specific application password (even if it works too).
On the new account settings screen, simply choose the Outlook logo which redirects to the Microsoft interface ;)

But it's now adding an IMAP account, I'm using EWS (synching calendar and contacts also).
I activated an app password, but I think it will not work after Sep 16th.
