Can understand that you are concerned.

But be aware that in Samsung mail app you will have less features than in current AquaMail Pro.

My hope is that as pro license users we don't lose sight of where we are what's going on and the response that Aquamai has given us so far. I bought my Pro license in 2013 and when I purchased it the agreement was that for life I would get all future updates improvements and features for the program. It is unfair for Aquamail to offer us anything but a lifetime premium license to honor the terms of that agreement and I feel that everyone here who purchased a pro license had the same terms promised to them.

Also I would like to say this I think it is a dangerous thing to edit our reviews at this point to reflect anything other than one star. As my grandfather used to say talk is cheap and until Aquamail was to deliver upon a new license that made us all happy then I think when we change our review to four or five stars on the promise of something better then we are being foolish and playing into their hands. I think everyone should keep their review in Play Store at one star and that new people who are unhappy and want to comment should also rate them one star. We all agree that we love the program and it is great but the one star is for the poor attitude communication and the breaking of a contract that we all purchased many of us years ago. In a case like this you have to hold the offending party's feet to the fire to get them to do the right thing because it's obvious from their first response that they had no intention of doing the right thing and in reality are still not offering us what we should have which is a lifetime premium license!

That's not true, for any app.

When you purchase an app as one-time-purchase, you buy the existing features. Of course you hope that the app will be maintained. But there is never a promise about that.

I don't like it, but it's ok to develop new features only for new payments. (I would have paid 30 € as a one-time-purchase, but not subscription).

And it's not ok to cut features. As it seems to be actually, this will not happen for pro users. THAT is a promise by AquaMail team. We will see what will happen and how it will happen.

No disrespect at all here Justin but the terms of the license I purchased were exactly as I quoted them that all future updates and improvements to the program would be included in the price of that license. I will go on to say this that this will not be the first time that a so-called lifetime license to a product has been pulled out from under me! It makes a person question the wisdom of purchasing such a license but for me the program was so good and the developer at that time was so responsive to our needs and support was so good that I felt compelled to support the product and also rid myself of any annoying ads. I'm only hoping that people will not drink the Kool-Aid here but take a true wait and see attitude because you can be promised anything but what you're finally delivered is the only thing that really counts. Everyone that bought a pro license should get a lifetime premium license to replace what they're losing!

No sorry Justin I'm afraid I only have the 2013 email for the license I purchased and it doesn't elaborate on the terms of the license. However I vividly remember what those were when I purchased it. I have to say that very likely there is some legal loophole and I'm certain that the people at Aquamail have explored this with their legal department before making the move they made. So very likely they are within the legal limits of the law if not the spirit of the agreement as it was originally sold. The reality of it is very likely no one would be willing to take them to court even if they had standing and were within the terms of their original purchase it would just be more expensive than it was be worth. So having said that we are pretty much at their mercy and hoping that they will do more or less the right thing but as I said in my first post Under This Thread no one should edit their review to be any more than one star we should continue to try to hold their feet to the fire with bad press and bad reviews until they step up and do the right thing which in my mind is a lifetime premium license!

I have been mulling this for a day or two, and was in two minds to post post my comment, or wait to see what develops, but chose to make my comment rather than wait.

It is quite plain from the comments on here and on Google Play Store, that AM have made a marketing blunder when it came to pitching their product at the existing long term pro supporters of AM.

Even subsequent messages from AM, are still not comforting for pro users, having to wait on finally what and what will not occur, when they have paid for a lifetime licence.

The AM score on Google Play is dropping, and that will not be comforting to AM, especially when the comments and negativity are coming from long term supporters and users of the product.  This will have new users considering if AM is the product for them.

AM could address the negativity and frustration felt by simply agreeing to convert all existing pro users to a no cost lifetime Premium licence. 

That in one stroke AM could restore the good will,  have the negative comments on Google Play edited and turned to positive ones and give comfort to pro users that they will not be put in this situation again sometime in the future.  Plus a single system to maintain


I totally agree with this. It's obvious you're not going to get subscriptions out of us and why give yourself the extra work of maintaining three AM platforms - Free, Subscriptions, and us Pro users on yet another that gets updates but not feature updates.

Save yourselves a bit of PR dignity.

For both applications Aqua Mail Free from 4.5+ to currently 3.2 and especially the Pro-key massively to only 1.8.

This means that the app is doomed:
With such low reviews, what new prospective customer will opt for a $30/year subscription????

I left months ago when they claimed a bug wasn't a bug and refused to fix it (even though I wasn't the only one complaining about it). The Rich text bar not on the bottom (floats instead) and when using the dark theme the compose window is white (they recommended switching to plain text but then you can't do formatting with the dark theme). Background sync is inconsistent. I kept the app hopping someday they'd fix it but still haven't. It took me a while to migrate and get familiar with Fairemail. Fairemail has all the settings I needed from Aqua Mail and then some. Fairemail has also received 2-3 updates while Aqua Mail can't even make up there mind what they are doing with there Pro users (that ought to tell you something).

I am seeing 4 and 3 for Aqua Mail ratings in the Play Store.

On UK, Aquamail is now at 3.8 (was 4.4 last week) and  Pro is 3.2 and that was 4.5.

But more damning are the reviews, with moving to a subscription based product being the cause
