Aquamail not synchronising with Gmail

I am a long time Aquamail user and have 3 separate gmail accounts all being accessed by Aquamail on my Android phone. I sync them (i.e. check for mail) manually and these last few weeks Aquamail takes a long time to check emails or won't check at all.

I have Aquamail registered as a third party app which I have given permission to access my email.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or is there an explanation for this behavior?

As a test, I downloaded the Gmail native app and it works fine. It's just Aquamail which is a problem at the moment.

Hi John,

The app taking a long time to check mail isn't due to an Aqua Mail problem but your network used at the time.

If the app is failing to check for mail, you'll see an error message - can you please take a screenshot of it and provide that?

Thank you for such a prompt response.

I checked the Aqua Mail app this morning and it synced with Gmail without any issues at all!

Yesterday when there was a problem, the sync would take a long time and (sometimes) was not successful. At the end of the process I believe I received a time-out error momentarily on the screen.

It's all working fine now, so I'll put it down to problems at the gmail end.
