Problem with new emails

A couple of days ago, in the application the mark of several new unread emails was appearing in the inbox, since all of them are already read.
The smart folder is set to show or arrive there all new emails, but nothing appears in that folder.

That is, only in the inbox it shows new emails that do not exist and to remove the check mark, I must open the inbox, options and select "Mark everything as read", but after a while it again indicates that there are new emails without existing.

Any idea where I can attack that problem?

Sorry, I did not comment that I use Pop3

Obviously, I didn't do any of that before ...  :-\
