Hi Chris,

I've revisited the problem with Google Docs you reported and was able to recreate it. I'll log it as a bug though at this stage I am unsure if Aqua Mail specifically is causing it. Seems likely considering all of the other options (View, Just Save, etc.) don't crash Docs. As for why no progress thus far - I checked your ticket but you did not reply to my request for steps to recreate in the end so it was resolved & closed.

I assume you already know the workaround but just in case : Don't use Save and Open, use Just Save and then View or tap the attachment itself. Viewing without saving also works.

No I replied to the email with step by step instructions. The problem with Google docs occurs if I open the file because it tries to rename it causing it to crash. If I do a save and open it will save the file but won't open it because it crashes Google docs. So the only way for me to be able to save and open a file is to save the file close aquamail go to the file manager and open the document. This has been a problem through the last three builds of Aquaman and each time I report it I report the exact same information but yet it hasn't been fixed.

Hi Chris,

I was only able to find one ticket for this issue and there were no steps inside. However, that is beside the point - we managed to reproduce this so it will be looked at. If the behavior is the same as I got using "Just Save", then using "View" or tapping the attachment will function as a workaround in the meantime.

Hi Chris,

As my colleague Martin mentioned in a later post, we've managed to reproduce the bug. Note that it will not be fixed for the current and following versions of the app.

We'll begin work on targeting Android 11 in from August. Attachment issues and other problems related to how all apps will have to handle files will be addressed.
