not first display enter pin code form

The UI is locked after a certain timeout, in case you accidentally exit the app or turn the screen off, and need to return...

The default timeout value is 15 seconds, is that what you're seeing, by any chance?

There is a menu item in the main window ("account list") to "lock now", can you try that?
