Can Aqua Mail pretend to be outlook android app
« on: April 11, 2020, 03:30:08 pm »
My corp email is office 365.

I can use outlook android app to set up email using office 365 OAUTH2 (login in webview and then provide RSA token). I can see the email is downloaded. But after 2 seconds, outlook prompts that I have to install and use Microsoft intune company portal which I don't want to install. Without intune company portal, outlook won't show me the email.

With aqua mail, I can set up email using office 365 OAUTH2 (login in webview and then provide RAS token). However, after I get authenticated, server replies that I have to get IT admin's approval to use aqua mail app.

It seems aqua mail reports it's self as aqua mail in the request (may be user agent).
So I wonder where I can configure the aqua mail's identity so that it can report itself as outlook android app. Then, I believe aqua mail can ignore the server side check on intune company portal as well as other security policy pushed by server.

Thank you.

Did you ever figure out a way to do this?  Think my corpos just recently banned Aquamail as well

Hello cnothing,

Thank you for your feedback. Currently, Aqua Mail does not have the option to modify its identity to report as another app. The only way to use Aqua Mail in this scenario is to get the approval of your administrators.

We appreciate your understanding and will consider this input for future updates.
