"451" error
« on: February 23, 2013, 07:21:58 am »
First, I loved the free version so much that I bought the pro version almost immediately. WAY better than the POS email program Android came loaded with on my new Samsung S3.

One BIG problem though ... I've configured my main business account successfully (both POP3 and SMTP - it is a Register.com account). I get emails in the 10 minute interval I've set it for, and can easily reply to any emails I receive (and the customized sig file works perfectly). So both incoming and outgoing works ... (i.e., my server and port settings are correct)

However, when I try to initiate a new email (i.e., not reply, but use the compose feature) ... it simply does not work. I always get the same error:

"Send error: 451 See [can't post external links ... email me privately and I'll send you the error].
Press send to try again."

Is there a fix? Am I doing something wrong? Seriously ...

I know when I signed up to ask questions here I signed the terms of agreement ... that I wouldn't trash talk anything. And believe me, I have no intention to. In fact, I love my Samsung, but hated the installed email program. I tried K9 (which everyone seems to rave about), but found I could not even open a PPT or image attachment in it.

Took a lot of digging, but IMO, AquaMail is, like, a whole generation beyond the garbage I've been playing with. The huge number of different customization possibilities are really astounding. It is everything I was looking for, and more.

AquaMail does every single thing I could ask for ... except ... I can't compose and send an email without that damn 451 error.

I know this is probably some error of mine ... whoever built this has clearly thought through an Android email app more fully than even Goggle has ...

Can you help me?

For the record:

We resolved this issue over email.

Messages were rejected by the server (qmail) due to LFs (line feeds) in its content -- which were there because the app wasn't removing newlines in some places where they're now allowed. It does now, keeping qmail happy.
