Exchange support other than EWS

Hello,
I'm a long time AquaMail user, and now I need to use an Exchange email account, which I never did before.

If I understand correctly, AquaMail only supports Exchange using EWS, no other protocols, right?

Unfortunately it seems EWS access is not allowed from outside the company LAN, I get error 403/Forbidden in AquaMail (while it works fine if I'm connected to the company wifi).

For the record, the same happens using Thunderbird with the Owl extension and EWS setting, but I can connect from outside instead if I use OWA setting in the same Owl extension.

Any clues, or any plans to add support for other Exchange protocols?
At the moment I resorted to using BlueMail only for this specific account...

I have a similar question, I need to add an Exchange account with eas.XXX.org. AquaMail does not support this. What does the manufacturer say?
