This is the current behavior:
On my Pixel 1 on latest Android P, I get notification for new email, I open the app, look at the new mail but leave it unread. So it was new/unread, now it's just unread. I would expect to not receive anymore notifications for this unread mail, but I do. I keep getting notifications, thinking that there is new mail, but there isn't, it's just the old unread messages.
I was going through the settings but couldn't figure out how to do disable these notifications for unread but not new email. I'd really appreciate some help. Thank you in advance!
