Failed account setup
« on: April 23, 2019, 11:01:20 pm »
I have set up a new account in Thunderbird but cannot get it set up in Acqua mail.

I have checked and rechecked spellings. Host is not common therefore cannot be auto detected.

ENTERED the following:-

username@domain.org.uk

password

imap.host.com

SSL

IMAP PORT 993

smpt.host.com

SSL

SMPT Port 465

Authentication required for IMAP, POP3, SMPT.

I left this as Choose Automatically

fails at outgoing mail server.

Any advice please?

I dont suppose the format of the email address is causing the problem?

It is:-

part-nextpart.org.uk

I remember sometime ago that a dash, rather than an underline, used to cause problems with file names.

We had to use the dash in the email address, when partnextpart i.e no dash needed, was stolen from us; this is why I am reluctant to publish our real email address.
