How to I disable the gray rectangle with 3 dots in replies?

I just upgraded to a phone running Android 9.0.4 and the latest version of this app has a weird gray rectangle that appears in the email body when replying. I've attempted to get support to help, but they take forever. Anyone know what settings to change to remove it? Thanks.

You will find an option in the settings:
> Composing and sending > disable "New message editor"
